The best investment banking schools are ones that produce lots of analysts and have large alumni networks in the finance industry. These are often referred to by the term «target schools» and bulge bracket banks that have analyst positions available in their programs for students from these schools.

In terms of specific schools, Ivy league schools like Harvard and Yale are one of the most highly regarded for their capacity to produce investment bankers (although this is an expansive generalization). Other top ranked universities include Wharton, Booth and Stern at NYU, Kellogg and Northwestern at Northwestern, Darden at UVA, Fuqua at Duke. Other prestigious schools including Imperial College London and New York City’s Baruch College also make the list.

You could opt to enroll in the Wall Street Prep course, which is used by many investment banks to teach new hires. This is a great course which covers a lot of the fundamentals of IB and is a very good option for those looking to get into the business or want to improve their chances in a highly competitive environment.

If you have the time the course is also available on the edx website. If you’re not keen to spend the time on such an extensive course, you may want to focus on learning about financial modeling and making deals.
